We have given our employees 10 statutory holidays in a year, out of which 2 are optional holidays that can be chosen from the state-wise holidays list.
Out of these 10 holidays, there are 4 mandatory public holidays: 26 Jan (Republic Day), 01 May (Labour Day), 15 Aug (Independence Day), and 2nd Oct (Gandhi Jayanti).
My question is: if one of the public holidays falls on a Sunday, are we mandated to provide another paid holiday so that employees don't lose out on that statutory holiday as committed in the company leave policy?
