Hi, I have joined a Medical Store to meet my daily requirements, but I have not been given any payslips or salary certificates. I'm paid 5,000 rupees per month in cash, and there is no proper documentation for it. Since my salary is low and paid in cash, there are no EPF, TDS, etc., deductions in my case. I was not familiar with income tax rules at that stage of my life and did not file any tax returns as my salary was only 60,000 rupees per annum.

I have now received an offer from a reputable MBA college and decided to pursue my MBA. I am concerned about the background check because I lack proper documentation. Although I have obtained an experience letter/certificate, when I contacted the Medical Store owner, he mentioned it is impossible to provide me with these documents as it has been 2 years since I left the job.

ESI and PF Applicability in Organizations

As per labor law, in an organization, ESI applicability falls if there are a minimum of 10 manpower, and PF is applicable when there are 20 manpower. Hence, in a pharma store, if that much manpower is not there, then these rules are not applicable. I hope you were gaining only hands-on experience as a fresher/trainee, so don't bring the law in between. I feel you are scared for some other reason.
