Hi, Currently, I am working as a Tech Lead in one of the reputed MNCs. My onboarding happened during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. At the time of joining, I provided documents that were available via email even before joining (I had a 3-month notice period from my previous employer). The Background Verification (BGV) process had commenced, but one of my previous companies (the second last one) had shut down, and I don't have any documents from that company as it was a project for a friend that didn't work out.
Around 10-15 days after onboarding, the company asked me for those documents. I informed them that I didn't have any documentation from the shut-down company.
Despite repeated pressure from them, I explained that I would try to obtain the document. After a month had passed, I reached out to HR and asked for clarification on why the documentation wasn't requested before my joining. I also mentioned that if the situation was problematic, they could cancel my joining. The HR representative responded that they would look into it and get back to me. Later, they changed my status from amber to green and mentioned that the document was needed for client BGV.
Now, after completing a year and a half, I am considering leaving the company. Will this BGV status pose any issues for a smooth transition when I resign?
