What is the applicability limit for stranding order? As I read, it is applicable for an establishment having more than 100 employees. If a manufacturing organization having 90 employees on Roll and 60 employees on Contractors roll. Standing order is applicable or not? Is it necessary to display standing order in the establishment?

Standing orders is available mostly in all states of India for 50 or more employees. This includes both direct and contract employees

For the purpose of computing the threshold no. of workmen in an industrial establishment under the IE(SO) Act,1946, only those employees on the rolls of the establishment should be taken into account. Third party contract workmen need not be considered as there is no employer-employee relationship between the PE and the contract labor.
