I’m working with a private ltd company from which I’m planning to resign, the notice period on paper is 2 months, over the last few years there were several unpaid salary debts which has now accumulated to a huge sum. Since there is a large sum due am i still entitled to serve the notice period? If yes what are my options if the company is creating trouble in my reliving process?

You are required to serve the notice period notwithstanding the unpaid salary of the past. You can make a request to adjust such payments against the buy out but it is discretionary with the management. Try to work out a satisfactory relieving after talking to all concerned

You are required to give notice period as per your terms of appointment. You can ask your employer to consider the unpaid wages in lieu of notice period. This would stand your position good, if your employer plays foul.
