Maternity Leave Dilemma: Should We Pay Our Sales Manager Her Full Salary or Just the Basic?

hr.avaids@gmail.com
One of our female employees was receiving 2.5 lakh monthly salary and has gone on maternity leave since May 2020. Could you please advise on the amount of salary we need to pay her during the maternity period - basic or the full 2.5 lakh? Is there a maximum wage limit for maternity? She holds the position of Sales Manager.

Mr. KM,

My question remains the same: do we have to pay 2.5 Lakh per month for 26 weeks? Is there a maximum wage/salary ceiling?

Thank you.

Dear Member,

According to the MB Act, we are required to pay the full salary to the employee. This is similar to other leaves where we also consider full salary. There is no maximum wage/salary ceiling.
