Our company, Tollway Limited, operates in accordance with the guidelines set by the National Highway Authority of India, with our office situated in Bangalore. We ensure that our employees are paid wages as per the State Minimum Wages Act. However, the Enforcement Officer has issued a notice indicating that we fall under the purview of the Central Minimum Wage Act.

Clarification on Wage Act Applicability

Could you please provide clarification on whether toll plazas are categorized under the Central Minimum Wage Act or the State Minimum Wage Act?

Toll plazas situated on National Highways under the control of NHAI come under the purview of the Central Government. Therefore, central government minimum wages are applicable to all employments in toll plazas.
