Labour License Renewal in Bihar: Do I Need to Reapply or Can I Extend It?

Dear Senior members,

I have applied for the CLRA (labour license) for a project in Bihar on registration.sharamsuvidha.gov.in. Now, the certificate is about to expire. How can I renew it, or do I need to apply again?

Kindly help.

Under the CLRA Act, we do not find any provision on the renewal of the Registration Certificate. In your case, you can apply for an amendment in the RC.

On the Shram Suvidha portal, there is no provision for the online renewal of a license. To renew your license, you need to apply manually using Form II by enclosing the original license and a Demand Draft for the renewal fee. The application for renewal must be submitted one month before the license's expiry date to the concerned Licensing Officer of the Central Government from whom you obtained the license.

If the earlier license is expired and a new license is obtained, the licensing officer may deduct a certain amount from the security deposit of the expired license when you apply for a refund of the security deposit of the expired license.
