I need to know about the new EPF rules. Is it deductible from the basic only or from the total salary? Is there any ceiling limit for the deduction of PF?
It's to be deducted at 12% on the total salary, excluding HRA, for those drawing a gross salary of Rs. 15,000/- per month. In respect of those drawing a salary above Rs. 15,000, it's only voluntary on either side, no compulsion.
