Income limit of dependent parents under ESI Act increased to Rs.9,000 p.m.

Income limit of dependent parents for eligibility to medical benefits under ESI Act has been increased from Rs.5,000 p.m. to Rs.9,000 p.m. Copy of notification dated 24.6.2019 in this regard is attached.

This is only draft and not final notification. Final notification is expected to come in July end or August only. In the meantime, you can send your suggestions and objections to the Ministry of Labour and Employment.

I think this limit will be increased from 9000/- to 12000/-

Medical Benefit For Dependent Under The Employees State Insurance (Central) Rules,1950 Increased.
Government of India in consultation with Employees' State Insurance Corporation vide notification No.G.S.R. 599(E) had amended Rule 61-A of The Employees' State Insurance (Central) Rules,1950 where income limit of medical benefit for dependent parents has been increased to Rs.9000/-from earlier limit of Rs.5000/-
