Balancing Work and a Regular MCA: Does It Impact Career Opportunities?

Hi Members,

I have a query. When I joined an IT company, I was a BCA graduate. However, while working in a rotational shift, I pursued a regular MCA degree. I was able to manage both work and studies. Some of my friends mentioned that having a regular degree along with work experience may not hold the same weight. Could you please provide some guidance? If this is true, how can I transition to a new organization with my master's degree and experience?

Thank you for your help.

Experience vs. Qualification in the IT Industry

What counts and what does not count is a subjective matter. You have given a little bit of information about your career but have not told us about the length of the experience that you have or the technology that you work on. In the IT industry, "experience" is everything. You capitalize on the experience of working on some technology. Qualification does not matter per se.

The present CEO of Google is Mr. Sundar Pichai. What is his qualification? He has a B.Tech in Biotechnology. Seemingly, there is a mismatch in his qualification and the job that he took up. Yet he scaled up in Google. You too will scale up! Don't worry!

Thanks,

Hi Dinesh,

I have almost 5 years of experience. But is it true that overlapping experience with education doesn't count as the same time, and we can only claim one at a time, or is it just confusion?
