Navigating Career Growth: Should I Switch to Recruitment or Stay on the HR Path?

Career Growth and Skill Development in HR

I am working in a public limited company as an Executive HR for the past 2 years. Before that, I was working in a private company in the same position. Now, I have completed 5 years in the HR executive profile, but so far, I have not been assigned the tasks of payroll processing and statutory compliance. I am hopeful about my career growth and would like to seek guidance. I lack knowledge in payroll and statutory compliance. What steps should I take next?

Considering a Job Offer

Additionally, I have received an offer from a micro-finance company for the position of "Sr. Executive - Business Recruiter" with a 30% salary increase. Should I accept this offer? Would it be beneficial for me to change my job role? Can I transition back to being an HR generalist after working as a recruiter?

I would appreciate your help and any suggestions you may have for me. Thank you.

Hi,

You must be very clear whether you want to see yourself as a successful recruiter or generalist. What out of these two roles really excites, challenges, and keeps you going? Indeed, for career growth, you can study HR compliance and payroll through short-term courses in the market.

Thanks and Regards, Akash Sharma
