National Holidays for Hourly Factory Workers: Should They Be Paid for Days Off?

yashika-raval
Hello everyone,

I recently came across a query regarding whether national holidays (26th Jan and 14th Jan) are paid to factory workers who normally work on an hourly basis and didn't work on 14th Jan. So, kindly suggest whether we should pay them for these two days or not.

26th January is a national holiday, and leave is payable to all workers. Regarding the 14th, please follow the state labor rules.

Hi,

Kindly correct yourself first, 14th Jan is not a national holiday. Regarding your query for paid holidays, working on 26th Jan or any other national holiday would be considered a paid day off. For 14th Jan, you should refer to your company policy or state government rules.

The Republic Day is a paid holiday for all classes of workers, whether they are working in factories, mines, construction, or any other establishment governed by the state or center.
