Hello everyone,

I recently came across a query regarding whether national holidays (26th Jan and 14th Jan) are paid to factory workers who normally work on an hourly basis and didn't work on 14th Jan. So, kindly suggest whether we should pay them for these two days or not.

26 jan is national holiday and as leave it is payable to all workers regarding 14th, please follow the state labor rules

Hi,

Kindly correct yourself first, 14th Jan is not a national holiday. Regarding your query for paid holidays, working on 26th Jan or any other national holiday would be considered a paid day off. For 14th Jan, you should refer to your company policy or state government rules.

The Republic day is paid holiday for all class of workeres, either they are working in Factory or Mines or Construction or any other establishment governed under the State or Centre.
