Discussion on Employee Exit or Attrition
You have raised the discussion on employee exit or employee attrition. You have questioned the validity of the reasons for juniors leaving due to bad bosses, but what about the bad behavior of the juniors?
It is not merely a matter of juniors versus seniors, but one concerning the organization. Everyone works for the organization, and the organization's interests must take precedence. In light of this, seniors bear more responsibility in safeguarding the organization's interests by virtue of their authority.
However, the exercise of authority should not be arbitrary. Seniors should be mindful that their erroneous decisions or actions could diminish the motivation levels of juniors. Over time, this demotivation can transform into frustration, ultimately leading to employees leaving the company.
Juniors become disheartened with their bosses when they perceive a lack of impartiality. Additionally, the bosses' technical or functional expertise also plays a significant role.
Frequently, managers secure promotions based on their length of service rather than their knowledge or managerial capabilities.
