Can My Employee Claim Travel Allowance for a One-Day Training in Bangalore?

csj2410
Is there anyone who can help me with this issue? One of my employees has been nominated for a one-day training program in Bangalore, from 9 in the morning to 6 in the evening. For this, the company has arranged a vehicle for pickup and drop from Mandya (127 km). Would he be eligible to claim TA or DA?

Dear friend,

If the company arranged pick-up and drop-off, and if the training was just for a day, then where is the question of TA/DA? In most of the training programs, lunch and tea are provided. Therefore, check whether the employee had to spend anything for food. If yes, then only the food charges need to be paid.

Thanks,

TA/DA is provided to defray the expenditure of the employee. Here, in this case, no expenditure is incurred, so the question of TA/DA does not arise.

Certain organizations (PSUs) pay 1/4 DA where all expenses are provided for like this. The food and beverages are provided at the venue of training, but some expenses are to be made for to and fro journey which, by Bangalorean standards, won't be less than three hours, either way, I presume. No TA is payable when transport is provided.
