Background Verification Woes: How to Handle Checks When Your Previous Company Shut Down

aishwarya-jadhav
Hi,

I am at Wipro, and my background verification is pending. This is because my previous company has shut down, and it was a small firm. What documents from my shutdown company should I provide for background verification at Wipro?

Whatever documents you have can be made available. It is not your fault that your previous employer has closed down business.

Many businesses have closed, and employees have either joined or left such companies. As long as your documents are true, there is nothing to fear.

In addition to what's stated by Mr. Nath Rao, you may also arrange and produce all or either of the following:

1) A reference letter from a well-known personality known to you, such as MPs/MLA/College/School Principal, a family doctor, a former colleague, banker, Postmaster, etc.

2) Obtain a police verification certificate from the Commissioner of Police in your area where the residence is located.

3) Firms used to utilize the services of private investigating agencies who carry out such verification checks (BGC). Probably, you might consult on what to do in these circumstances; they may have some clue.

Try contacting the owner or a management person and ask them to provide a relieving letter. Basically, you can create the format and arrange for signatures if possible.
