Incident with Local Worker and Request for Advice

During working hours, a local worker in our organization asked to hire his cousin, who is the son of the Sarpanch of the same village. I asked him to go to HR and discuss the matter. However, HR refused to hire him based on qualifications.

On the same day, as I was returning home from the factory, some local villagers, along with the aforementioned local employee, attacked me, resulting in a critical head injury. I requested a transfer to another unit from management, but my request was denied.

I am seeking advice as I have no other options to work in a different unit or to leave the job. Thank you in advance for your help and support.

This is a police case. Put up the whole matter in writing to HOD HR, Dept HOD, and file a complaint with the civil police. Specifically mention the name of the candidate and that he is the son of the Sarpanch, etc.

You need to keep your life safe by taking the above steps.

You have not mentioned your designation. What was the motive behind the attack? What was the reaction of your management to this attack? Your management should file a complaint at the police station based on your incident report to them. Filing an individual complaint may not be very useful. It appears this was an accident while on duty, warranting treatment expenses to be paid by your management.

Why are you seeking a transfer? This incident should not be blown out of proportion. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

I fully agree with the view of Mr. Srinath. You must report this to your management, and it is the duty of management to register a police case against the culprits. It is the responsibility of the organization to intervene if any incident takes place which is directly related to the affairs of the organization.

It is a serious matter. Your company's management should take up this issue with local authorities, the Industrial Corporation, the labor office, and of course, the police. There may be many locals working in the factory who would support the reason that the factories in the region provide employment to many. Please seek help from management to take action towards a permanent solution for problems of this nature.
