Is labour license compulsory under CLR Act. Who is responsible for taking labour license contractor or employer

As per Contractor Labour (Abolition & Regulation) Act, minimum 20 or more workers if employed, contractor is required to take labour license, if the number of worker is below 20 license is to be taken or not, and in such case who will take license - contractor or employer.

Engagement of any number of contract labour has to be registered with Inspector Of Factories. If number of contract workmen exceeds 20 or more for the particular Contractor, the Principle Employer has to issue the prescribed form duly filled in and signed, to the contractor for him to take a licence, under the act from the Authority concerned
