Is it allowed to share employee payslip with delivery manager?

HI ,
Delivery manager in our company wants him to be marked cc while sending payslip to his team. My question is, can HR share employees payslip with their managers? i think it violates the employee privacy! Kindly let me know your thoughts on this.

Dear Kar,
Yes, salary and wages need to be kept confidential and howsoever senior level a person may have he need not know the salary details of any employees. Exceptions are persons working in Accounts Department or Audit Department or MD himself.
I do not know how you have terms with the Delivery Manager. Though his this particular demand is unreasonable but overall if he is a level-headed person then tell him to obtain permission from MD to have CC of the mail of monthly payslip. Let him obtain proper authorisation.
Otherwise, you may obtain permission from MD. For this, send him mail about the requirement of delivery manager. If he gives authorisation, then matter closes there.

The salary slip of one can not be shared with others. To-day x manager is asking & tomorrow ABCD mangers will ask you to provide the details of their team members. Would you fall into their void pray? There are exception some personnel just come to know of it by virtue of their professinal nature while discharging the responsibility.
You discuss the matter with your CEO to end up the issue.

No gentleman. But the CTC can be if the employee is working under that DM and he is responsible for P&L of the team.

In principle, the delivery manager should have access to the pay data of his reportees. But to have him sent pay slip every month even if it is soft copy seems to be unreasonable. He can refer to it as when required with an HR, but what use he is going to make having it every month except to clogg his inbox.

To know P&L the delivery manager can ask for total wage disbursed for the month on his team instead of individual payslip. Every month finance department circulates the MIS (cost centre report) to all DH for reference and check, if cost over run.
