Feeling Stuck: How Can I Resign During My Probation Period in College?

I joined an engineering college as an assistant professor. I feel that I want to resign from the job. I am in a one-year probation period. I approached my head for resignation, but he refused and told me to talk with a senior person in the college. When I joined, they asked for a commitment, which they stated as a 5-year commitment to work. Please guide me on how I can resign from my current job. My head is saying that during probation, I cannot resign.

This is purely based on the terms and conditions of appointment. The alleged 5-year commitment to work for 5 years is based on an agreement or only verbal.

Notwithstanding the above factors, during probation, when Management has the right to terminate your service without notice, similarly you also have a right to leave the Organisation.

If a 5-year commitment is by an agreement in writing, please check the clause that the five-year period should be after the successful completion of the probation period, mostly. If the clause says it is from the day of probation, then the question of fixing the probation one-year period is meaningless, and the same can be challenged.
