Suspended Employee Under Inquiry: Can They Still Be Considered for Appraisal?

Sir, kindly clarify the eligibility of an employee who has been suspended and is under an inquiry for the appraisal cycle.

When there is sufficient evidence of an employee's involvement in misconduct, a domestic inquiry is ordered. Now the question arises: when was the inquiry ordered, and how long has it been ongoing? Is it being needlessly dragged? If yes, then it is not the fault of the employee as such.

Appraisal Cycle Considerations

An appraisal is for a specific cycle. It could be for a quarter, half a year, or a full year. How much of the appraisal cycle overlaps with the inquiry period? I recommend conducting the appraisal for the period that precedes the inquiry. However, this system also has its flaws. Any inquiry should be completed as expeditiously as possible.

Thanks,
