Probation Period and Termination
I was appointed on 31/12/2016 for a probation period of 6 months. My appointment letter states that during the probation period, they can terminate me without giving any reason. However, to my utmost surprise, they have a daily track of my work in writing (through reporting emails and WhatsApp official chats). Despite being new to their industry, I have shown a proven track record of successful execution, which was extraordinary given the circumstances in Africa. Moreover, not only my words, but the VP of the company appreciated my work in his email on 16th March 2017 and even approved my medical treatment in India as per HR policy. The GM of the company messaged me on WhatsApp saying that I am still on the job. However, after coming back to India, no one ever replied to any of my emails or calls. No reason has been given to me for terminating my employment, and I was never informed that I was being fired. Though I am the victim, I feel that anyone with ethical, human, moral, professional, or legal considerations would not deem such treatment as correct.
Impact of Job Loss
Leaving a 47-year-old man without a job, without money, without good health, without reason, only leads to psychological, physical, and financial harassment, which creates very difficult circumstances for my entire family.
