Maternity Leave Confusion: Can You Split the 26 Weeks or Take It All at Once?

To avail of her maternity leave of 26 weeks, how can an eligible employee do so? Is it taken all at once or in a different manner? I need some clarification.

It should be in one go. You can take 26 weeks of leave, out of which not more than 8 weeks should precede the date of pregnancy.
