Maternity Leave Confusion: Can You Split the 26 Weeks or Take It All at Once?

How can an eligible employee avail her maternity leave of 26 weeks. Is it all at one go or else? Need some clarity.

It should be in one go... you can take 26 weeks leave out of which not more that 8 weeks preceding the date of pregnancy.
