Hiring a Company Secretary in Karnataka: Can We Legally Avoid Statutory Deductions?

Bhanudevaraj
Dear All,

We are hiring a company secretary on a roll basis. Is there any way we can avoid statutory deductions? We are covered under the Shop Act in Karnataka. Please let me know.

Hi Bhanudevaraj,

Which statutory deduction do you want to avoid, and why?

We did not find any meaning from the posting for a suggestion. You come out with detail so members can contribute their views. If your company is a registered one, then the company secretary on-roll is a statutory requirement. Which tax you want to evade by appointing a company secretary is best known to you. Any establishment that does not fall under a factory or mines is covered under the Shop & Commercial Act of the state of existence.

Dear colleague,

Please clarify what is the relevance of statutory deductions to the appointment of the Company Secretary?

Yes, you can avoid all types of deductions by hiring him as an Honorary Company Secretary without any remuneration or compensation.
