Gap in career - what can I do to enhance my skills and open up?

I have a experience of 7yrs in HR. I have done PG in HR. I have a gap in my career from 2012. I want to start working again.
Please let me know in today's scenario what can I do to enhance my skills and open up to newer opportunities.

I recommend you picking up thread of your career where you had left. Future of your career will depend on the companies that you have worked in the past and the type of work that you have handled. Nevertheless, as far as HR is concerned, most of the things remain except labour laws. Most of the labour laws have been changed. Therefore, it is important for you to keep abreast with those changes.
