I am a 2017 graduate with a B.E. in Aeronautical Engineering and am interested in pursuing a diploma in Training and Development. Will this diploma help me advance my career in Human Resource Development (HRD)? Can the diploma degree make a difference? I am seeking guidance on making the best choice. Is a diploma in training and development beneficial for engineering professionals?

If you are a BE (Aeronautical) graduate from the 2017 batch, I recommend that you start with a technical job. If you do not work in a technical role, you may forget the knowledge gained during your engineering course, which could diminish your competitiveness in the job market.

While there is nothing inherently wrong with aspiring to be a trainer, you can always pursue a training course later. These formative years are crucial, and I advise against spending them on non-technical activities. Furthermore, if you aim to build a career in Human Resource Development (HRD), pursuing an MBA in HR is essential. You cannot transition directly into HRD through the training department.
