Less Amount of Eps is Deposited in Pf Withdrawl...

Hi Friends, After two years of service in my previous company I had withdrawn my Provident fund. In my pf statement my Eps Balance was 29162/- but the amount deposited is 21950/- means (7212/-) less when I went to pf office they told me the reason that I had left the company during the month and my last date of working was 15th therefore the amount was less and they told me that there is a rule that if you leave the company during the month then the Eps amount will be not fully deposited but I have doubt about this....
Can you all please give me any suggestion or Advise about this?

Please confirm whether in any month have you received your salary as arrears? as this is possible only in case of arrears PF filing. Please don't worry as if your contribution doesn't went to pension it surely stays with PF Account.
