Forgotten UAN Password and Old Mobile Number: How Can I Update My Details Online?

jayaashree
Dear Member,

My current UAN is two years old. I had linked my old mobile number to it. PAN and AADHAR were not linked then. Now, I have forgotten the password for UAN activation. I have discarded the old mobile number.

How can I change the mobile number to activate my UAN? The PF office states that everything is online. However, the option for changing the mobile number is through verification of AADHAR or PAN.

Please guide if anyone has encountered similar issues.

Thanks

Dear Mahesh Kumar,

Please ask your current employer to update the KYC details associated with your UAN. Once this is done, you will be able to verify your information on the member portal and update your mobile number accordingly.

Thank you for your suggestion, Mahesh Kumar. I am struggling to get the KYC done as my AADHAR is missing the date and month of birth details. Apologies for not reverting earlier.

Reprinting Aadhar Card and Linking UAN

Please reprint your Aadhar card so that it will have the complete date of birth. Then, go through the following link for eKYC of UAN: https://iwu.epfindia.gov.in/eKYC/LinkUanAadhaar. Make sure your Aadhar is linked with the currently active mobile number. If it is not, you can link it by visiting the Lokmitra Kendra (CSC) in your area. An active mobile number linked with Aadhar is required for OTP for eKYC. After completing eKYC at the UAN portal, you can change your password at the UAN member portal.

Ensuring Details Match with UAN

Also, ensure that your details match the details seeded with the UAN number. If there is a mismatch in details, you will need to approach your employer for correction in the UAN details with the required proofs. Your employer will approve the correction and forward the same to the EPFO field office for necessary action. Only the EPFO field office can make corrections in UAN details if it is not linked with Aadhar or if you don't have access to the member portal.
