Why Is My IBM Service Record Missing from EPS? Seeking Help to Fix This Discrepancy

I was working at IBM India from November 1995 to April 2013 and then joined Lenovo. Lenovo allocated a new PF number to me, and I had all PF funds from my old account transferred to the new account. Recently, when I checked my service history on the unified portal, it did not display any service records for IBM but only for the new company. I reached out to EPFO, and they provided me with Annexure-K, in which IBM had mentioned the EPS (scheme 1995) joining date as 01/01/2008. However, the EPF joining date is correctly stated as November 20, 1995.

Understanding the Discrepancy

My understanding is that the Date of Joining (DOJ) for EPS and EPF should be the same, but IBM has indicated the EPS joining date as January 1, 2008. What could be the reasons for this discrepancy, and how can I have this corrected?

Hi, I too had a similar issue when I worked in a Gurgaon-based company. For me, there was a difference of 3 years with respect to the EPS and EPF date of joining (my EPF date of joining was 15/09/2004, whereas the EPS date of joining was shown as 01/07/2008). Ideally, both the EPF and EPS date of joining should be the same. If there is a mismatch, it is usually a mistake of the employer (in my case, an Exempted Trust) due to improper updating of records or not properly contributing the pension portion to the EPFO. It's better to escalate this to your previous company's HR team and then to the top management, asking them to rectify it through the respective EPFO channel. The impact is that you will lose your pensionable benefits if it is not rectified. My case is still under process (for more than a year) with EPFO Gurgaon after the employer submitted the annual return for the missed/gap period along with Form 7 (PS) and 8 (PS). I am awaiting a response. It is quite a tough job, but it can be sorted out with proper escalation and close follow-up.

Did you manage to solve your issue? I am also facing the exact same issue. My service history in EPF is not showing the history for the pre-UAN period. When I raised a grievance via "EPFiGMS," they told me to submit Annexure-K.

From where to get the Annexure-K?

I am also facing the same problem. The previous record was not updated, and only the present employer's service record is showing, which means a loss of pension. I raised my issue with PGMC, EPFO Grievance, Nodal, and finally to the Appellant authority.
