Is It Legal for Companies to Hold Your First Month's Salary Until a Year Later?

Ravi Khandelwal 90746
My question is many companies hold the 1st-month salary, and it will be paid after 1 year of completion of service. Is it legal or not?

Hi Ravi,

It is not legal at all. I strongly believe this could never have any valid reason.

Thanks,

Dear Ravi,

It is a completely illegal practice. Any company that does not abide by the rules and regulations laid down by the government of India is not following the law.

Dear Ravi,

It is not at all acceptable to hold employees' salary until his probation completion. If needed, you should inform your bosses/management that it is illegal and unethical to follow such systems.

Nobody can withhold your salary if you have worked and your attendance is marked.
