How Can I Ask HR for More Time to Submit My Graduation Certificate Due to University Delays?

Badi305
Hi, I have recently been selected for an MNC company, and they require my graduation certificate to be uploaded for background verification. However, I am still awaiting the issuance of my graduation certificate due to a delay from the university. I have an authorized college letter stating that I have completed my graduation, and it mentioned that I need to wait for an additional two weeks for my certificate to be issued. Unfortunately, my date of joining is in just one week. Therefore, please advise me on how to approach HR to request permission to submit my documents at a later date. Thank you.

Dear Prasanth,

Tardiness by the Indian universities in the issuance of degree certificates is well known. Against this backdrop, you could have obtained a Provisional Degree Certificate (PDC) from your university. Secondly, have you deposited your mark sheet for the degree certificate?

In case there is an inordinate delay in the issuance of the degree certificate, then you may keep your company informed about your efforts in acquiring it.

Thanks,

Thank you, Dinesh, for the suggestion. In addition to my question, I would like to know if they will accept my authorized college letter as a temporary consideration for my certificate. Along with that, I have all my marks memos with me but not in a consolidated sheet.
