Employee comission for introducing investors who sucessfully funded the company

Hi,
I am working with a startup where I introduced one of my sales lead to my co-founders and later over a period of few months they managed to secure an investment of close to 2 Million through him. I would like to know am I eligible for any commission for bringing this lead on the table?
Appreciate your help.
Thanks,

Dear friend,
Generally salespersons are paid sales incentive when exceed they their sale than a targeted limit. In your case, you are not a direct salesperson but have given a lead that fructified into the investment. By attracting this investment, will salesperson become eligible for incentive? If yes, then for providing the lead, you too can raise your claim for the incentive. Nevertheless, quantum of incentive need not be same as that of salesperson. It could be partial.
The other factor that you may look is earning goodwill from the employer because of this investment. While you may not get incentive, if you earn goodwill of your employer and further, if that goodwill results in getting more power or authority in the organisation, then that is also no insignificant achievement. As the organisation grows, your power and authority also could grow. This growth could give you the monetary benefits but in the long run. Whereas asking incentive for attracting investment will give you immediate returns.
If you are paid incentive for attracting investment, the monetary trade-off will complete and it could curtail your non-monetary entitlements. Therefore, look at the internal dynamics of the company and find out which option will work best for you.
Thanks,
