Feeling Stuck on Starting a Training Standards Project? Seeking Guidance and Examples!

THOMASET
Dear HR colleagues,

I have been assigned a new project related to Training standards in my company. Can anyone please help me with how to approach this project? I am stuck on where to start. For example, what are the topics I should cover and which topic should I start with first?

Could anyone share a sample of training standards?

Thank you for your assistance.

Dear Thomas, there are two issues about your post. The first one is: has your company defined the training standards, and has your company given you the task of measuring the training programs? The second issue is that the company has not provided any training standards, but now you need to establish the standards and measure how employee training, as an HR intervention, has performed.

The essence of training lies in measurement

However, Return on Investment (ROI) for each training program cannot always be calculated, especially for programs that are primarily for educational purposes. For instance, if your company conducts an awareness program for obtaining ISO certification, measuring the effectiveness of such programs can be challenging.

On the other hand, measuring the effectiveness of corporate training is relatively straightforward. You can assess whether any ratios have increased or decreased or if any costs have been reduced.

Assessing training standards through the Kirkpatrick Model

Another method of assessing training standards is through the Kirkpatrick Model. However, I have yet to come across a company that has measured up to Level IV.

Previously, I provided a detailed response on employee training. You can refer to it by clicking the following link: https://www.citehr.com/523786-traini...ml#post2222367.

Dear Dinesh Divekar,

Thank you for the reply. Yes, we do not have any training standards here. I have been told to create this topic with fresh ideas for topics to include in this project. However, these training standards are for both technical and non-technical training.

Thank you for the link. I will go through it.

Thanks once again.
