Every engagement of the services of a person by another for hire or reward will automatically become employment if it creates the employer-employee relationship between them which is otherwise called as the contract of employment or contract of service. Therefore, not withstanding its duration, it continues to be a contract of employment till its termination as mutually agreed. Any such adhoc contract of employment lasting only for a mutually agreed period of time is also called as Fixed Term Contract of Employment which is not different from a regular/normal contract of employment other than the terminal clause. In other words, all other rights and obligations of the parties to the contract remain the same during its subsistence.
