Navigating Shift Changes: Do I Need to Notify the Labour Office for Night Shifts?

HR_Meena
I used to work in health care but recently moved to a small-scale factory setup. My question is, we have Label manufacturing, and we wanted to implement 2 shifts. We planned to have two shifts after office hours - one in the morning and one in the evening from 5 pm to 1:30 am. I would like to know whether I need to inform the Labour department using Form 10 or if there are any other formalities I need to follow. Please guide me.

Dear [Recipient],

You need to submit Form 11 to both the Local Office and Regional Office. Additionally, please display the shift timings on the company notice board.

Thank you.

For factories, changes in shifts should be communicated to the factories department and displayed on the notice board, providing details of all shift timings. The shift timings are from 5 PM to 1:30 AM. Have you arranged transportation for the employees?

Are there any female employees deployed in shifts, especially the second shift, i.e., 5.30 pm to 1.30 am? If so, you need to obtain special permission in addition to submitting Form 11 to the Factories Department and displaying it on notice boards, etc.

You are also required to arrange transport pick-up and dropping. A female supervisor is mandatory for the entire shift, as well as a female security guard to escort.
