Is It Really Necessary to Get Employee Signatures on the Salary Register in Manufacturing?

Dear all friends,

I am working in a manufacturing company and I want to know about the salary register. We generate a salary register every month and we take the signature of all employees in this register. It is mandatory to take a signature in this register because I see some companies can't do this type of practice. Please provide me with guidance regarding this.

If you issue salary slips and pay the wages by cheque or NEFT, then a signature on the acknowledgment is sufficient. However, if payment is made in cash, it is mandatory to have the recipient sign the register.

Signature is mandatory on the salary register if the salary is paid in cash. In the case of a bank transfer, it is not required.
