How To Have A Safe Exit

. I am a govt employee and have been unauthorizedly absent for 3 months. Department sent me show cause to reply within 14 days i sent back response after 16 days that am sick and due to unavoidable circumstances of family cant come. They have given an add in news paper now stating i havent responded to showcause hence this is final notice to appear before competent authority in one week. I also dont have a very good reason of absence despite few medical certificates.
What should i do, submit my resign with immediate effect right now, or go to the hearing and lets see what they do, may be termination. Or dont go to the disciplinary hearing at all. All i want is to get relieved with a clear record. Can i apply resignation in after unauthorized leave? Would i have to give notice?and join back for the notice period or return pay which i had taken 3 months earlier( they havent given me pay for the duration i was absent). So how can i avoid termination and safely quit job now?

Under the current scenario getting a govt. job is very great. How u have taken very lightly because of family situations?. According to my experience, u have problem in famlily, which u could have settled in the court. It seems u r very negligent about ur future and family. A family which includes ur children and ur parents and not a wife alone.
If u r sick, u could have sent an email, a ordinary or registered post or any make a phone call to ur HOD. Otherwise, u could have sent an information through any of our neighbours. Don't u have any neighbours? Ur behaviour is very disguisting. Ur HOD is right.
Seniors HR personnel, If I am wrong, pls comment and why and how?
