Notice Period Dilemma: Will Taking Leave for Interviews Affect My Salary?

I would like to know if the employer is issuing notice for 2 months, and during the notice period, if the employee takes leave for attending an interview, will the salary be deducted?

Hi Jyothi,

This is upon the employer's discretion; either they will increase your notice period by the number of days you were on leave during the notice period, or they may deduct your salary for the same.

Normally, leaves are not granted during the notice period, apart from situations of exigency where leave is necessary. In such a scenario, as rightly mentioned by Asna Siddiqui, it is at the employer's discretion either to extend the notice period for such leave or to deduct an amount equivalent to the leave from the employee, as mentioned in the Termination clause, in order to facilitate a smooth transition upon the employee's departure.
