Seeking Sample Interview Questions for Reviving an Airline's HR and Tech Teams

Lembris Laanyuni
Dear team, I have recently been appointed as an HR Manager at the oldest, yet non-performing airline. There is currently a significant effort underway to reform and revive the company's operations, including the management of HR. As we work towards this goal, we are looking to hire staff, including pilots, engineers, and cabin crew (flight attendants), to support our expansion. I am seeking sample interview questions to compare with those from the technical departments and develop the final set of questions for the panel in a confidential manner. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Regards, Lembris

Dear Lembris Laanyuni, while interviewing a candidate, there are at least two rounds: one technical and another HR. In extreme cases, both rounds are merged together. In the technical interview, technical knowledge is assessed, while in the HR interview, the candidate's attitude, communication skills, etc., are assessed. Therefore, my recommendation is to leave the technical interview to the technical head or any other competent person.

Behavioral Interviewing

In [Behavioral Interviewing](https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwFZpLigNaA5b1NkczlVZ0VKOG8/view?usp=sharing), it is possible to merge the technical and HR interviews. The candidate can be asked to provide examples of leadership, decision-making skills, etc., in the technical field. However, this skill comes with training and cannot be mastered on one's own. You may train all your HODs to improve the quality of interviewing.

Thanks,

Dinesh Divekar
