Please find attached the Payment of Wages (Amendment) Act 2017, as notified in the gazette on 16.2.2017. This act provides for the payment of wages through banking channels. It shall be deemed to have come into force on 28.12.2016.

Establishments may still disburse the salary in current coin or currency notes. So, there is no basis for this amendment in the Payment of Wages Act.

Payment of Wages Act (Uttar Pradesh Amendment Act 2017). Any updates on this amendment? How are factories making payments? Most of our workers don't want to accept bank transfers.
