How Do You Measure Employee Productivity and ROI in a Hospital Setting?

Dear Friends,

Can you tell me how to calculate employee productivity in a hospital? How can we determine the return on investment in a hospital from an HR perspective? Please help me.

Employee Productivity Calculation in Hospitals

You may calculate employee productivity based on the following metrics:

a) Revenue per person
b) Percentage of employee cost against total sales revenue
c) Number of employees per bed
d) Ratio of patients' complaints (related to employees)
e) Number of inpatients to number of compliments ratio
f) Compliments per employee ratio

Other standard ratios include:

g) Employee attrition
h) Percentage of recruitment cost against total employee cost
i) Cost reduction due to employee training
j) Number of suggestions per employee
k) Cost reduction due to the implementation of suggestions by employees

I hope the above ratios are more than sufficient. Additional productivity ratios can be measured only if you institute a comprehensive Performance Management System (PMS) in your company. Feel free to contact me if you wish to do that.
