Seeking Suggestions for Expansion and Branding

We have been in the industry for the last 19 years and are looking to explore options up North. We want to place some of our resources at client locations. Currently, we do not have an office there but plan to open one after reaching a considerable size. We have noticed a few declines in quoting, possibly due to various personal reasons. However, I strongly feel that they are not aware of our company, and I am a bit worried.

Please suggest a few options for branding and how to motivate people to join us.

Addressing Candidate Concerns in Northern India

Your problem is not due to a lack of brand awareness in the northern part of India. Just because a few job candidates are unwilling, you cannot correlate their non-acceptance of the job with the brand image of the company. There are several cases where head offices are located in Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, etc., and they have staff in Delhi, Patna, Kolkata, etc. Many times they work from home.

I feel that the problem could be due to the wrong Job Description (JD) posted on the job portal or in the newspaper ad. I recommend clearly mentioning that the person employed will work at the client's location. However, their reporting authority will be at the head office of your company. Inform the candidate that your client will make arrangements for their office.

Interview Process Considerations

How about the interviewer? Has he been sufficiently trained in interview handling skills? Instead of projecting the image of the company, is the interviewer projecting his image of being South Indian and thereby creating hesitation in the mind of the interviewee?
