Nevertheless, from a common understanding, I can say that if the death has occurred on the company premises, then you need to order an inquiry and ascertain the causes of death. The Inquiry Officer needs to investigate the causes of the death. At the same time, you need to inform the police authorities about the death. The second notification should be to the organizations that deal with social security.
If the death is attributable to the employer, then the company may ask for the Death Certificate from the kith and kin of the employee. Whether the death is attributable to the employer or not, the legitimate heir or nominated person needs to be paid the terminal benefits. HR may facilitate so that the process of compensation becomes smooth.
