I am an HR Professional with 3 years of experience. Currently, I am working in a software company and have a query regarding the releasing of documents. Can you please help me resolve this doubt?

If an employee leaves the organization without informing or requesting documents after 3 years, what would be the best course of action for HR? Should the HR department support the employee in obtaining the documents or take a different approach?
