Help Identify An Organisational Change Situation To Lead!

international hrm
Hello, I need to write a 2500 words essay on 'Leading organisational change' subject. and my question is:
"Imagine you are a manager in a change situation(e.g. severe crisis situation, product innovation, reorganisation of a division, entering a new market etc.). Critically explain how you would personally lead this change. Which leadership theories and concepts would inform your behaviour? What are the limitations of this leadership behaviour? What leadership skills do you need to develop and how to provide this specific leadership?"
I am unable to find a specific change situation. And also it has to be a real situation and not imaginary!
Please kindly help me!

Dear friend,

You wanted to write essay containing 2,500 words but you have not mentioned why you wanted to write it. Are you doing your doctorate?

In your post, you have given examples of few situations that Change Manager has to face. However, let me specify here that the situations that you have mentioned are not handled at managerial level but at the top most management level. To bring a change of that kind, person has to be CEO, or Managing Director (MD).

You may check the case study of British Airways, that was turned around by Sir Collin Marshal.

One more case study could of Umesh Chowdhary of Titagarh Wagons. He acquired French company Arbel Fauvet Rail in 2010 and pulled it out of bankruptcy. After acquisition, it was rechristened as Titagarh Wagons AFR.

Your additional questions are which leadership theories and concepts would inform your behaviour? What are the limitations of this leadership behaviour? What leadership skills do you need to develop and how to provide this specific leadership?"

A leader needs to have strategic mindset. Behaviour part of the leadership is ok till GM/VP level but at CEO level his/her concentration is outward and not inward.

Thanks,
