There is an overlap of my joining date of the current company and the release date of my previous company. I have an offer from another company. I have emailed my prospective employer about the overlapping dates, and he has assured me that it will not be an issue and that the matter will be taken care of. I have contacted them repeatedly and explained the situation, after which they released the offer. Do you think it will cause an issue during the post-joining background verification check?

Put the exact release date and submit a claim for transfer. EPFO will consider the non-contributory days as negative and allow the transfer. This will also rectify the overlap issue.

Cascading dates will generate trouble in the transfer of accounts. Therefore, I advised the correct method to rectify and proceed, as an employee cannot serve in two places simultaneously in the same period.

Whatever your old employer has filed with EPFO can be rectified by your own filing. It will go to the old employer for digital attestation online. Once he approves the same, it would get changed in the EPFO portal as well.
