How to Handle a Team Member Who Exhausts Leave Balances and Ignores Feedback?

One of my team members takes regular time off. He has already exhausted his time off balances for this year and continues to take leaves regularly. He is an experienced member of the team with 5 years of experience.

I have provided valuable feedback to him multiple times, but he is not willing to improve. What should I do?

When the feedback does not work, we have to start following progressive discipline. Next time he is absent, you may give him a warning letter and deduct his salary. If the misconduct is repeated, then issue a show cause notice. As a punitive measure, you may suspend him for 1-2 days.

However, before proceeding with the negative discipline, obtain approval from your Director or MD. Instead of signing the warning letter or show cause notice yourself, have it signed by your Director or MD. Take all necessary actions, but ensure that your name does not appear anywhere.
