If an employee opts to continue membership when his salary increases above Rs. 21,000, do both the employee and employer have to contribute? And on what amount should the contribution be calculated - on the increased salary or up to Rs. 21,000?
Sir, it appears that the concerned government has not so far published any notification regarding the enhancement of the wage ceiling under the said Act.
Should we start implementing a process to inform employees, or should we await the notification? In case of notification, implementing it effective from 1st October 2016 will be difficult. Management definitely would not like to increase the CTC, and employees will not want to reduce their NTH, which will lead to a time loss in arriving at a common ground.
The government has not yet published these changes in the gazette. Should we wait until the notification comes, or can we go ahead and implement it from 1st Oct'16? We are expecting a few people to join our organization and are confused about whether to put them under ESI or GMC. Can you please clarify?
Sir, I think it will be more appropriate if you can confirm the position from the concerned office of ESIC to which your unit is attached and take action accordingly.
